Meta has announced Meta VR Glasses, its first attempt at putting virtual reality into glasses rather than a headset. They weigh 100 grams, with micro-OLED panels at 37 pixels per degree behind custom pancake lenses. There's no computing in the frames: everything runs on a 300-gram puck with Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite, 12GB of memory and 128GB of storage, over a thin fibre-optic cable. Control is by eyes, hands and voice, with full-body hologram video calls. The field of view is 70 degrees. They ship in spring 2027 for $1,299.99.
