Runway Releases Aleph 2.0 - Edit One Video Frame and It Propagates Across Every Cut

Runway has launched Aleph 2.0, its upgraded in-context video editor, alongside a new Edit Studio application. The system allows users to edit a single frame of video and automatically applies that change throughout the entire clip, including across scene cuts and different shots. The breakthrough feature addresses a longstanding limitation in video editing technology. Previously, in-context edits would break at scene transitions, requiring manual reapplication across cuts. Aleph 2.0 now tracks objects across multiple shots and applies changes everywhere the target appears, maintaining consistency throughout the footage. The updated platform supports clips up to 30 seconds at 1080p resolution and introduces multi-shot handling capabilities. When users make an edit to one frame, the model generates a preview of the change before propagating it across all relevant frames, preserving elements that weren't intended to be modified.
