Seedance 2 Video Is Setting New Standards & Destroying The Competition. Can Hollywood Hold On?

2026 has barely got started and we've already had three absolutely incredible video generation models, first it was Runway 4.5, then it was Kling 3, and now it's China's Seedance 2.0 ByteDance has released Seedance 2.0 in beta, and it allows users to create 1080p video clips from prompts, images, or audio, with consistent characters, multi-shot stories, and even edits to swap actors or backgrounds. The access is restricted to China right now but the early demonstrations that we've seen, seem even better than what we saw just last week from Kling 3. Users have already been using Seedance to create short films and they've been breath-taking. The ability to decern between reality and AI is becoming razor thin. It's easy to see why, once again, people are saying "Hollywood is cooked".
