Google Maps has added a conversational search feature called Ask Maps. You describe what you want and get location recommendations back. Navigation has come a long way since [robotic] "turn left in 200 metres." The new Google Maps feature, Ask Maps, is powered by Gemini and rolling out now on Android and iOS in the US and India. Instead of typing keywords, you can describe a situation - "somewhere quiet to work that isn't too crowded" - and the app matches it to real places. So now instead of attempting keyword searches and hoping for good results, you describe what you actually want and let the model interpret it. Google has been building Gemini into most of its tools and Maps is one that can benefit greatly from intelligence. If the integration is slick, this will really change the experience.
