HeyGen has released HyperFrames as an open-source framework that fundamentally changes how AI agents create video content. The tool allows agents to write HTML, CSS and JavaScript code and render it directly into MP4 video files from the command line, eliminating traditional video editing workflows.
The framework ships with over 50 pre-built components including social overlays, shader transitions, data visualisations and cinematic effects. Users can scaffold projects, preview them in browsers and render to MP4 locally or through Docker containers. The entire process operates through terminal commands, designed specifically for AI agents rather than human editors.
HyperFrames integrates directly with AI coding platforms including Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. This enables a workflow where users describe their requirements in natural language, AI agents generate the corresponding HTML code, and HyperFrames automatically converts it into finished video files. The process bypasses traditional video production elements like timelines, keyframes and render queues.
This approach represents a significant shift in video production methodology. Instead of designers working with tools like After Effects and Premiere Pro, AI agents can now compose entire video scenes through code. For product demonstrations, social media content and marketing videos, this could dramatically reduce production costs and timeframes whilst enabling programmatic video generation at scale.
